  • Alissa Cincotta’s Top 5 Backdrops – 50% Off

    September 04, 2025 3 min read

When I’m in the studio, the backdrop is just as important as the camera, lens and lighting I’m shooting with. The right one can completely change the vibe of an image and help your subject pop without fighting for attention. Over the past year, I’ve found myself gravitating back to the same handful of drops again and again, my "go-tos" for portraits, fashion, beauty, you name it.

So, I pulled together my Top 5 Intuition Backdrops, and for a limited time you can grab them all at 50% off.

Here’s why I love each one.

    Olivewood | Moody + Timeless

This one feels like stepping into a European editorial spread. Deep, rich tones and texture that photograph beautifully without looking busy. Olivewood is my choice when I want my portraits to have old world style and drama. It’s important to make sure your wardrobe and set styling matches the look of this design. For example, a high school senior in a bright colored outfit, or a client in a casual and basic outfit wouldn’t look very good on this drop.

    Denim Plaster | Painterly Texture

I love a backdrop that looks hand-painted without the hassle. Denim Plaster gives you that soft plaster vibe with cool, modern tones. It works just as well for fine art as it does for a clean fashion portrait. I love the brightness of this design as it allows me to style my clients in tone-on-tone blues, or go with a pop of a complimentary bright color like pink or yellow for some added energy to the image.

    Uhtred | Cinematic Ambiance

This one is all about mood. Uhtred instantly adds depth and a touch of grit. It’s the kind of backdrop that makes a simple portrait look like a movie still. Pair it with neutral wardrobe, flowing fabrics and a box fan, and let the atmosphere do the heavy lifting. Pro tip: edit your images with a warm tone and make sure your light is feathered to match the scene for the perfect cinematic shot.

    Fortuna | Fresh Energy

Fortuna has this draped, flowing quality that feels like fine art straight out of a painting. It photographs as if you are on-location with this setup, without the hassle of having to set anything up! The soft green tones photograph beautifully against skin, adding just enough color without stealing the scene. It’s romantic, timeless, and perfect for sessions where you want to create images with a touch of grace and sophistication. I like to fire a light at 2700 Kelvin over the top of the background from behind to create a warm glow from above.

    Xia | Neutral + Versatile

If I could only have one backdrop in my studio, it might be Xia and the entire Origami Collection. The creamy folds are subtle but elegant, and it adapts to whatever I throw at it: boudoir, beauty, fashion, you name it. It’s the most versatile drop in Intuition's lineup and adds such a unique editorial element to your portraits without overpowering the shot.

    So… Why These 5?

Each of these drops has its own personality, but they all do the same thing: make your final images look incredible. They’re the kind of backdrops that elevate your work without overpowering it, and they’ve become staples in our studio for a reason.

Now you can add them to yours at half the price. Don’t sleep on this one — once the sale ends, they’re back to full price!
