Subtle Textured Backdrops for Milestone Sessions

Subtle Textured Backdrops for Milestone Sessions

Subtle Textured Backdrops for Milestone Sessions | with Nikki Lenae Photography

When I first began Nikki Lenae Photography five years ago, I primarily photographed newborns. I loved being able to capture and document the new addition to my client’s family. However, newborn sessions began blending together, as my workflow during the session became routine. I am creative, and I like to be challenged, but photographing mostly newborns began to challenge my creativity and I began losing inspiration.

Therefore, I began photographing sitters! From my first sitter session, I fell in love with photographing them. Each session is completely different because of the big personalities being showcased in the photos, and I love it! It challenges my skills as a photographer and allows me to expand my creativity.

Something that I believe is necessary for my setups for sitters is a backdrop that adds just enough texture and color to the photo without taking the attention away from my subject. Intuition Backgrounds creates beautiful backdrops that meet all of my expectations.

Two of my favorites are the Deep Woods backdrop and the Pink Cape Light backdrop. They both have warm and cool tones incorporated into the design that make them very versatile in terms of choosing what props to use. All my props match both backdrops. They work as a beautiful base to build a setup, and the colors are meticulously chosen to compliment all skin tones.

When photographed, the Deep Woods backdrop is the perfect shade of lush green transforming the mood of the photo. It adds a very dramatic atmosphere surrounding the subject that my clients and I enjoy. It is gender neutral, and photographs beautifully when paired with dusty rose and pink tones.

The Pink Cape Light is a gorgeous mauve tone, which is a very common color in my work. The different hues of pink and purple blended throughout the design of this backdrop makes it the perfect canvas to build upon. Therefore, it matches a wide variety of outfits and props that I own. The Pink Cape Light creates a timeless look and adds a vintage flair that I absolutely love.

Both of these backdrops add the perfect amount of color and texture to my photos. I love how they can completely transform my setups and the overall mood of the photo. The material the backdrops are composed of is very sturdy and durable. Mine have been through quite a bit of wear and tear, and still photograph beautifully and do not show any signs of use.

I love using my Intuition backdrops and completely recommend them. Intuition is a wonderful company and they produce a quality product that anyone can appreciate.
